HER PRACTICE

An art therapist with a humanistic, person-centred and trauma-informed approach, Roxanne offers sessions in which the creative process encourages reconnection with yourself, your body, your emotions and your needs, gently and gradually. In sessions, she invites you to slow down and refocus on yourself with self-compassion. Through colours, shapes, images, movements or words, she offers a space where you can explore complex realities and existential questions in a relaxed way.

Roxanne holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in art therapy from Concordia University. First trained in grief support on a listening line, she has been working with youth and adults who have lost a loved one since 2018. She has worked in community organizations with children and families experiencing grief, as well as with loved ones of homicide victims. As part of her art therapy training, she also gained experience in adult mental health and palliative care settings.

Art therapy is a discipline that combines the creative process with a therapeutic framework to facilitate self-expression and self-exploration in a climate of trust, respect, kindness and confidentiality. No artistic talent is needed! Curiosity, a willingness to discover and the desire to experiment guide the sessions. Different artistic media, such as pastels, watercolour, charcoal, collage or clay, help you reconnect with physical sensations while creating objects or images that give tangible form to intimate and sometimes abstract realities.
